Nick Gowrley

Nick Gowrley

Nick has lived in Mid Suffolk for 35 years and is married to Heather, a retired teacher.  Nick was born in Nyasaland (formerly Malawi) and moved to the UK at the age of four.  Chester was home for most of his childhood and he studied Estate Management at Leicester Polytechnic.

After a short period of working in Chester, Nick moved to London for ten years, working for the London Boroughs of Southwark and Lewisham.  He moved to Mid Suffolk in 1988, where he was employed by Mid Suffolk District Council (MSDC) for the next 23 years until his post was made redundant.  Nick has a wealth of experience in local government.

Nick is an active member of the local community.  He works part-time for a small charity based in Stowmarket.  Nick came across Citizens Advice Mid Suffolk whilst working at MSDC.  As he has been quite fortunate in his life, he felt that it was his chance to give something back to the community and became a Trustee of Citizens Advice Mid Suffolk.  Nick is also a Councillor for Stowmarket Town Council.
