Check, Switch and Save this Big Energy Saving week

Posted: 22nd January 2019

Citizens Advice Mid Suffolk is helping local residents to save money on their energy bills this winter as part of Big Energy Saving Week (January 21-27).

New figures show that 19% of households in Mid Suffolk switched their energy supplier last year.  This Big Energy Saving Week, we’re encouraging you to CHECK if you’re entitled to discounts or grants, SWITCH your energy provider and SAVE energy by being more efficient.

Despite the introduction of a price cap on energy bills at the start of the year, people could still save more than £150 by switching their supplier.

Local staff and volunteers from Citizens Advice Mid Suffolk are offering free sessions to help people find the best deal on their energy bills. They’ll also be giving advice on how people can make their homes more energy efficient, as well as ensuring people are getting any discounts or grants they might be entitled to.  The sessions are running through Big Energy Saving week and until the end of March.  To book call 01449 676060 or drop into the office in Stowmarket.

To support customers to save money on their energy bills, Citizens Advice provides an independent price comparison site and a customer service star rating which ranks suppliers’ customer service.

Carol Eagles, Manager of Citizens Advice Mid Suffolk, said:

“There are many reasons why people may be paying too much for their energy. But this week is a great chance for people to get a bit of extra advice and support on how they can save money on their bills.
