We are looking for a Business Development Officer

We are looking for a Business Development Officer to join our team at our advice centre in Stowmarket.  You will be key to helping the service to grow and reach more people who need our support. Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will build and maintain relationships with key funders and partners.  You will develop and implement projects that reach people in need, particularly in our rural communities.

This is a permanent role.  It is 37.5 hours per week and the salary is £27,000 per annum.

Your responsibilities

  • Be responsible for preparing and submitting grant applications to generate income for the organisation in a very competitive marketplace.
  • Analyse and communicate data, producing reports to demonstrate impact and using data to develop our services.
  • Attend local community meetings and represent the organisation publicly to various stakeholder groups.
  • Deliver talks to local community groups on the work of the charity and the services provided.
  • Deliver PR & marketing activity using a variety of marketing channels, tailored to different audiences.
  • Provide administrative support to the organisation, in particularly to support the development and delivery of services.

 

You will need:

  • Strong administration skills and attention to detail. Excellent numerical and analytical skills and experience of using tools such as Excel (aptitude test on Excel at interview). Experience of presenting data to different audiences to make an impact.
  • Ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, and to gain buy in for new ideas and approaches.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to adapt for a variety of audiences and write persuasively.
